Bin Gu Plaza: A Green Music Box in the Concrete Jungle

Unveiling Hpa Architects Engineers and Dev. Consultants' Award-Winning Commercial Office Design

In a world where concrete structures dominate, Bin Gu Plaza, designed by Hpa Architects Engineers and Dev. Consultants, emerges as a breath of fresh air. This commercial office design, inspired by the concept of a Green Music Box, merges nature with architecture, creating a dynamic, eco-friendly environment.

The design of Bin Gu Plaza is a unique blend of form and function. Each two layers of the building act as a moving box dislocation, forming rich green platforms and creating an ecological environment. The volumes of the box twist to create rich shadows, forming a dynamic visual effect. This design strategy provides opportunities for users to feel in nature instead of a concrete forest.

Bin Gu Plaza stands out for its phenomenal façade. Comprising multiple blocks with a twist at every two levels, it incorporates stacked terraces for flora and fauna, creating a substantial outdoor landscape. The design also integrates extensive uneven windows that resemble the shape of sound waves, signifying connections, combinations, and globalizations.

The interior design of the building is a testament to green, carbon-positive, and sustainable design strategies. The internal space extends the outside into the office space, and the west-facing office incorporates adjustable louvers and maximizes natural daylight in the working area to reduce carbon emission. The building also uses Autodesk Revit 3D architectural visualization for precise project stimulation and analysis, enhancing the accuracy and efficiency of the drawing design.

Bin Gu Plaza is not just about aesthetics and sustainability; it also focuses on cost-effectiveness and energy efficiency. The project involved 100% steel structure assembly to speed up the construction process, optimize space usage, and reduce the use of sand and gravel. The use of low energy glass and other recycled materials effectively lowers the building’s solar intake.

The 10-story Bin Gu Plaza, with 37,054 sqm gross floor, is designed to achieve National Two Stars Green Rating through precise implementation of energy efficiency and sustainable development. The project was completed in September 2017 and has since been a shining example of sustainable architecture.

Bin Gu Plaza's unique design and sustainable approach have not gone unnoticed. The project was awarded Silver in A' Architecture, Building and Structure Design Award in 2019, a testament to its outstanding expertise and innovation. This award is given to top-of-the-line, creative, and professionally remarkable designs that showcase a remarkable level of excellence and introduce positive feelings, amazement, and wonder.
